Falls from tempestuous skies Petals flickering |
With a gentle hum,
A light compassionate touch, Their meadow will thrive |
They watch solemnly

Personality
The owl with no wings appears in the trees,
Singing softly along with the breeze.
---
An introverted Esk that prefers to keep to themselves, Lillium isn't one for the the high energy of the forest life and prefers to have their quiet solitude to think. Despite this, they do enjoy company and can oftentimes be found visiting with or lending an ear to their friends and loved ones in the quiet of their Boundary. Their quiet is only broken by the soft, otherworldly, musical hum that follows them.
In the comfort of their forest or in the quieter parts of the Conservatory, Lillium's laid-back personality can be tinged with intense curiosity and a hunger for adventure. They seek out small trinkets, unique places or landmarks in order to satiate their desire to learn new things. Bringing a small gift is a surefire way to put you in their good graces. These gifts can be anything from something found or something made, or even a 'special' natural object. Whatever it may be, it will be cherished.
Beneath their nurturing and relaxed personality lies an Esk that can sometimes be lonely and solemn. They rarely allow their regal exterior to falter, but those close enough to them will know when to look for their downcast moods. Lillium is oftentimes guarded with their feelings and thoughts, but with enough time and compassion, they might be persuaded to open up.

Design/Misc. Notes
-Their mane is slightly curved at the top, and is always slightly taller than their face. Their face is heart-shaped, with an appearance almost identical to a barn owl. Humans that see them often only see her face, leading many to believe they're simply a monsterous owl.
-They do have an optional Winter Form!
-With their winter coat, their fur is longer and considerably wavier. They have foot tufts that manifest with their winter coat only.
-Their orchids are long, moth orchid spikes. They can be drawn as individual spikes, or like a single older, "branching" spike. You can draw them with the occasional bud scattered in their blooms for simplicity's sake!
-Lillium is roughly the size of a bull moose. (Size reference 1 - 2 - 3 )
Life ElementalLillium' elemental manifests as plant life sprouting beneath their paws and trailing a short distance behind them. These can manifest as tiny sprouts, mushrooms, wildflowers or unfurling ferns depending on your preference, but are always left behind with each step. They disappear once Lillium leaves the immediate area, and return back to the earth.
They use this power in order to grow tiny plants as they wish, or breathe new life into wilting flowers or weary spirits. While they can not actually bring beings back to life, they can bring them back from the brink -- which might just be the next best thing. |
Guiding Light Enchantment
This enchantment is intertwined with Lillium's firefly familiar swarm, causing them to appear wispy or ember-like and slightly lighter than normal.
This enchantment guides weary travelers, confused wildlife and lost -- but not Lost -- souls back towards the promise of safety. They use this enchantment's bright lights to garner attention and lure those in need away from any dangers that might threaten them, or back towards the way they came. |
Their Boundary
|
Lillium's boundary is that of a meadow, rather spacious in size and close to the Esk's heart. Guarded by the towering trees that surround it, it's carefully tucked away from those not specifically searching for it. The meadow is dotted with an array of different wildflowers -- native to the state of New York or not -- that seem to be tended to daily. The spacious meadow is crisscrossed by well-treaded walking paths, warn down over the years by her daily walks through their boundary and beyond. This carefully cleared space allows for easy travel on sunny days, and clear views for dark, starry nights. Remnants of human intervention are scattered throughout Lillium's boundary, from old ruins and a swath of exotic flowers, to a pair of well-worn stone stairs. Where these relics came from, however, is a mystery to the humans that visit and tend to the park, since no history of a settlement has been known in the area. The questions that arise from Lillium's boundary attract the occasional visitor to marvel at the oddities that lie within. Their unwavering, owlish stare that follows these visitors has caused a murmur of a spirit that lives in the woods, but its appearance can't be properly pinned down by those who have caught a glimpse of them. Lillium tolerates and even enjoys these visitors, up until they begin disrespecting the forest that they love so dearly. At the first sign of trouble, Lillium will begin to unnerve those that seek to desecrate their Boundary. Of all the aspects of their boundary, the most striking is the Firewatch tower hidden just beyond the trees. Lillium's intensity in protecting this tower has caused it to be abandoned, and as the years pass, its slowly being reclaimed by nature. |
Feel free to ask about Lillium being a story creator, either by DeviantART message or Discord (eeby deeby#4785). I'd love to talk over ideas with y'all!
In the years since becoming an Esk, Lillium has granted many Transformations. This is due in part to the fact that they saw their own transformation as a mercy and a blessing, so they wish to grant that same experience to those in need.
This isn't to say that their feelings on Transformation are cut and dry, though. While most of their transformations have been to lessen or prevent suffering to the lost souls they've stumbled upon, Lillium sometimes finds themselves doubting or feeling guilt in their decision to transform them into Esk. No matter their doubt, though, Lillium would never abandon one of their creations and enjoys taking the time to teach them what it means to be an Esk, granted that the resulting Esk accepts their offer. They are very affectionate to those they transform, and see them as close friends or family members.
For objects, they generally only transform cherished or sentimental items of theirs or others.

Wonders are waiting to start
Live your story Faith, hope and glory Hold to the truth in your heart Moirtee is one of Lillium's youngest creations. His tiny and gentle nature causes Lillium to treat him a little more carefully than they do the rest of their creations. They spent a lot of time after his transformation teaching him the basics on pretty much everything, and since then have treated him similarly to their child. |

Finch was, when Lillium first found them, a songbird with a beautiful voice. After being outcast from the rest of their flock, they stumbled upon Lillium and lost and weary, asked for their help in transforming them.
They can be slightly hot and cold with their emotions, but Lillium sees them as a child and treats them with as much care as they can. |

Puerorum was Lillium's first object transformation. They were struck by the energy that emanated off of the locket that they found abandoned in the preserve, and decided to transform it due to a gut feeling. They, in many ways, feel pain for Puerorum's constant search for wholeness, and try their best to stay beside them as they navigate their new life as an Esk. |

Emerys was created after Lillium witnessed an owl being taken by a fox. In their grief they transformed the last remnants of the owl they'd grown familiar with; a pair of bloodied feathers. Now that he's become an Esk the two of them are very close, with Emerys often visiting Lillium to give them news about the happenings further out in the park. |
